30th and 31st January 2027
SAINT-VINCENT TOURNANTE OF LADOIX VILLAGE
81st edition
Last 24th January, Jean-François Curie, Grand Master of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, announced the location of the next Saint-Vincent Tournante de Bourgogne. Forty-one years after hosting the wine event, the Volnay appellation, located in the Côte de Beaune, will host the 83rd edition. The organising committee is already beginning preparations for this celebration, which will take place on 30 and 31 January 2027.
VOLNAY APPELLATIONVolnay appellation Planted exclusively with Pinot Noir, this Côte de Beaune appellation in Côte-d'Or comprises 29 Climats classified as Premier Cru. The total area classified within the appellation is 242 hectares and 34.07 ares, of which 143 hectares and 96.92 ares are Premier Cru. Perched high on the Côte de Beaune, narrow and steep to allow the vines to thrive, Volnay is backed by the small Chaignot mountain, forming a slight bend in the general orientation of the slopes: from east to south-east. This vineyard has been cultivated for centuries. The Knights of Malta, the abbeys of Saint-Andoche d'Autun and Maizières, and the ducal and then royal estate harvested it long before the Revolution. Its distinctive character became apparent in the 18th century. A red wine made from Pinot Noir grapes, this Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée, established in 1937, is accompanied by Volnay-Santenots produced in Meursault (bordering and continuing the terroir as Pinot Noir land).
