60TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE TASTEVINAGE SAMEDI 20 MARS 2010

Organised by the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, the Tastevinage de Printemps will be held at the Château du Clos de Vougeot on Saturday, March 20 at 10:00 a.m.

It will be the 85th session; 833 red and rosé wines of Burgundy, Crémants de Bourgogne and the white AOC Bourgogne will be tasted and submitted for appraisal :

 338 wines presented by 49 wine-merchants
 422 wines presented by 134 wine-growers
 73 wines presented by 9 cooperatives.

Some 250 wine tasters will have to answer these questions :

Is this wine worthy of the appellation and the vintage on its label ?
Has it a good aging potential ?
Would I be proud to give a friend this wine as a present ?

Following this criteria, the selected bottles will be declared "tasteviné" and will be entitled to bear the arms of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin on the label, the back label or the round sticker.

The twin aims of the Tastevinage are to reward the producer for the quality of his wine and to provide the consumer with an extra guarantee.

Tastevinage is officially recognised by the European Union.

From 5:00 p.m. on March 20, the Tastevinage results will be listed on this website under "news" section.
